Job Summary

Job Title: House Parent

Location: Amarillo TX

Prioritized Must Have Skills for the House Parent:

#1. Must be 21 or over

#2. A high school diploma or equivalent

#3. House parent couples must be married for at least two years

#4. House parent couples can have up to two children of dependent age

#5. Single house parents cannot have children of dependent age

Responsibilities of the House Parent:

Live in your assigned cottage helping to care for and provide for up to eight children.
Teach and lead cottage rules and daily routines.
Provide encouragement guidance and counseling to residents.
Participate in educational and recreational activities with the youth.
Ensure that all childrens physical needs (food shelter etc.) are met.
Help children build self-esteem and gain skills to overcome difficult situations.
Act as a positive role model to youth by demonstrating appropriate behaviors and attitudes towards others.

Requirements of the House Parent:

A high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience in childcare or related field is preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
Must possess a valid drivers license.
Must be 21 or older.
Ability to work independently with strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
If you are a married couple you need to be married for at least two (2) years.
If you applying as a couple you may bring two dependent children with you (5 years or older). Single applicants cannot bring any dependent children.
Single applicants may bring one (1) pet couples may bring two (2). *Breed and weight limitations apply.

Other Key Requirements for the House Parent:

In office 24/7 will live onsite
No sponsorships or visa holders. No Corp-to-Corp.
