The Department of Labor and Industries Self-Insurance Program is seeking a Workers Compensation Adjudicator 4 (WCA4) to join our team. You will support the agencys mission by resolving complex high profile sensitive medical and legal issues in accordance with industrial insurance and case law while ensuring that workers receive sure and certain relief and timely benefits.
You would be responsible for reviewing adjudicating and ensuring the quality and consistent management of industrial and occupational disease claims especially those covered under the various presumptive coverage laws including Radiological Hazardous Waste Facility Presumptive coverage and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) claims.
This opportunity will require the incumbent to communicate with workers employers physicians and their lay or legal representatives concerning individual cases and appropriate application of the Industrial Insurance Act pertinent rules and policies.

The Insurance Services Self-Insurance program is dedicated to supporting employers and protecting workers by providing impartial oversight and timely expert services to all employers in Washington State that elect to administer and pay their own workers compensation claims.
Some of what you will do:

Three (3) years of experience in adjudicating workers or crime victims compensation insurance claims or adjudication of time-loss payments.
OR
Note: If the employee hired is not already a certified claims administrator they must take and pass the certification test within one (1) year of hire.

This position is eligible for a flexible schedule (4/10s 9/80s 5/8s etc.) upon approval by management. For positions where in-office work is necessary the frequency of telework will be discussed with the supervisor of the position at the time of offer.
For this position teleworking is permitted full time. The assigned duty station for this position is Tumwater Washington.
