Location:Varnville SC
Duration:13 Weeks (Extendable)
Shift:58 Days 40 Hours/Week

Weekly Gross Pay:$2926

Job Summary

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for evaluating planning directing and administering occupational therapy treatment programs as prescribed by a licensed healthcare professional. This role includes overseeing the development implementation supervision and continual evaluation of the activities program.

The therapist will complete and/or delegate components of the comprehensive assessment contribute to individualized care plans and ensure that goals align with the skills needs and preferences of each student.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Conducts student evaluations and develops occupational therapy care plans.
  1. Demonstrates competency in evaluations involving cognition perception sensory skills motor coordination ADLs strength/ROM and home management.
  1. Interviews students and families to support care planning.
  1. Selects assessment tools and establishes long-term goals and objectives.
  1. Designs and administers individualized treatment plans.
  1. Completes progress notes summaries and documentation for all services.
  1. Prepares accurate and timely service notes for student records.
  1. Assists with ordering and maintaining therapy supplies.
  1. Ensures confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and district policies.
  1. Completes all daily weekly and monthly checklists schedules and inventories.
  1. Participates in setting and upholding measurable care standards.
  1. Remains current with clinical and professional OT developments.
  1. Maintains regular attendance in accordance with district procedures.
  1. Upholds ethical standards manages priorities and works well under pressure.
  1. Performs other duties as assigned by school leadership.

Education & Experience Requirements

  1. ValidSouth Carolina Occupational Therapist licensethrough SC Labor Licensing Regulation.
  1. Graduate of an accredited OT program (BS MA/MS required).
  1. Minimum2 years of direct OT experience including strong pediatric experience in a school setting.
  1. CurrentCPR certificationrequired.
  1. Proficiency with computers and word processing software.
  1. Ability to support the mission and values of the school district.

Knowledge Requirements

  • Familiarity with general computer applications used in school and therapy settings.
  • Ability to stay informed on changing regulations policies and standards.
  • Strong command of business and medical terminology grammar spelling vocabulary and basic math.

Skills & Abilities

  • Professional warm and positive demeanor.
  • Ability to adapt to shifting demands and responsibilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills especially in sensitive situations.
  • Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to operate general office equipment and perform related tasks.

Working Conditions

  1. Travel to designated sites as needed for student care or therapy.
  1. Routine use of standard office equipment.
  1. Physical requirements include lifting/moving items up to 50 lbs.
  1. Must be able to work under time-sensitive and high-attention demands interacting with both students and adults.
