Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care for patients in critical condition
- Conduct thorough assessments and develop treatment plans
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment protocols as necessary
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Educate patients and their families on health management and care options
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in critical care medicine
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Board certification in Pulmonology and Critical Care Medicine
- Valid medical license to practice in the state of Georgia
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge in critical care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to patient-centered care
- Prior experience in a critical care setting preferred
Schedule: 7a-7p
Beeper Call Shifts: 7p-7a
Daily Volume: 10 patients 4-5 admissions
8-bed ICU
Duties: Admissions cross cover and pulmonary consults
Required Procedures: Tracheal intubation central lines chest tubes arteriallines dialysis catheter thoracentesis lumbar puncture conscious sedation bronchoscopy
Support Staff: Hospitalists ER MD respiratory therapists and ICU nursing
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
