Job Summary
Responsibilities
Perform SMAW welding on pipes structural steel plates and other components as per approved WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications).
Read and interpret engineering drawings isometrics weld maps and fabrication sketches.
Prepare workpieces perform fit-up beveling cleaning and material alignment before welding.
Select appropriate electrodes amperage and welding techniques depending on material type and thickness.
Conduct root pass hot pass fill and cap welds ensuring full penetration and defect-free welding.
Work on various welding positions (1G6G) as required by project or client standards.
Carry out welding repairs per supervisor or QC instructions.
Follow safety procedures use appropriate PPE and comply with site HSE policies.
Maintain welding machines tools and consumables in good working condition.
Cooperate with QC inspectors during visual inspection NDT and welding qualification tests.
Ensure proper housekeeping in work and storage areas.
Requirements
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum 35 years experience as an SMAW Welder in industrial construction fabrication or oil & gas sectors.
Valid Welder Qualification Certificate (3G/4G/6G SMAW preferred).
Strong knowledge of welding techniques electrode types (E6010 E7018 etc.) and welding parameters.
Ability to weld in all positions and under various site conditions.
