Job Summary:
The Unit Coordinator will provide administrative and operational support to the Children & Families Service ensuring the smooth running of the social work unit.
This includes managing correspondence appointments meetings and statutory requirements acting as the first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders and supporting the team with reporting data management and financial administration.
Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):
Coordinate and maintain systems and processes for the social work unit to ensure efficient operation.
Act as first point of contact for enquiries from staff families and external agencies.
Schedule and manage diaries appointments and meetings for the unit.
Take minutes and maintain accurate records of professional meetings.
Collect aggregate and report management information.
Administer financial processes including payments to families and authorisation of transactions.
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and safeguarding procedures.
Draft correspondence and reports to a high professional standard.
Support team members while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to data protection regulations.
Provide administrative cover and support during absences or high workload periods.
Skills/Experience:
Experience managing competing priorities and working methodically to meet deadlines.
Knowledge of Childrens Social Care statutory requirements and safeguarding principles.
Strong organisational and administrative skills including diary and meeting management.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact sensitively with children families staff and external agencies.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and information management systems.
Ability to produce accurate reports and correspondence.
Financial administration skills including monitoring budgets and processing payments.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility problem-solving and proactive approach.
