Position Summary / Career Interest:
The Director of Nursing is responsible for Mission and Values implementation operational leadership and direction of assigned departments. Is responsible for assigned services for performance planning and improvement; clinical quality; fiscal and service results; and patient customer and employee satisfaction.Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
- Advocates for the protections and rights of individuals families communities populations healthcare providers nursing and other professions and institutions and organizations especially related to health and safety.
- Attains knowledge and competency that reflects current practice.
- Collaborates with all levels of nursing staff interdisciplinary teams executive leaders and other stakeholders.
- Considers factors related to safety effectiveness cost and impact on practice in the planning and delivery of nursing and other services.
- Considers factors related to safety effectiveness cost and impact on practice in the planning and delivery of nursing and other services.
- Enhances the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice nursing services administration and the delivery of services.
- Evaluates own nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines relevant statues rules and regulations.
- Integrates ethical provisions in all areas of practice.
- Integrates research findings into practice.
- Interacts with and contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues.
- Provides leadership in the professional practice setting and the profession.
- Must be able to perform the professional clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
- High School Graduate
- Bachelor Degree Nursing
- Master Degree Nursing
- 5 or more years of supervisory and management experience
Required Licensure and Certification
- Basic Life Support Heartsaver (BLS HS) (Non-Clinical) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) - Single State - State Board of Nursing
Preferred Licensure and Certification
- Nursing Professional Development Certification (NPD-BC) - American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
