Class Summary
Job Description
The Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating maintenance of district parks and facilities to ensure proper maintenance and quality levels of service. This position involves conducting regular field inspections inspecting job sites to ensure proper completion of work and working closely with field staff and Parks Manager to discuss and address immediate and future maintenance needs in the parks. Additionally the incumbent will be supervising district personnel to ensure compliance with the Gwinnett County Merit Rules and Regulations.
Essential Duties
- Evaluating employees through annual review process
- Preparing overseeing and tracking annual budgets for district parks
- Collaborating with business management in drafting and reviewing annual contracts for parks
- Managing landscaping contractors for district parks
- Assigning and prioritizing projects for district parks
- Interviewing potential candidates and providing recommendations for hiring disciplinary actions and terminations
- Responding to emergency calls and situations as needed
- Meeting contractors and acquiring estimates for repairs projects and improvements
- Forecasting and managing capital projects
Public Speaking Duties
- Answering questions and interacting with members of the public
- Speaking during internal meetings and providing updates and reports as needed
- Developing and delivering engaging training sessions for employees
Other Job Requirements/Information
- This job may require on-call rotation and emergency after hours weekends and/or holidays
Grade
- The grade for this position isC421. Salary will be dependent on education and experience.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Parks and Recreation Health and Human Services Senior Services
- Four years of recreation experience
- Two years of supervisory experience
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
Preferred Qualifications in addition to the above minimum qualifications
- Five years of supervisory experience
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
