We are looking for experienced Product Owners with a strong background in mobile application and cloud-based development passionate about improving lives through health technology and driven to deliver high-value products. At Roche Diagnostics we re transforming the future of diabetes care. As part of our SW Product Management subchapter youll contribute directly to Roches flagship product mySugr empowering millions of people with diabetes through personalized intuitive digital experiences.
Your upcoming mission
As Product Owner you will lead the definition and delivery of new product capabilities across our digital diabetes management ecosystem. Working at the intersection of customer needs business value and technical feasibility you will serve as the voice of the product team and the central decision-maker on product scope and priorities.
Operating within Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) you will work cross-functionally with software engineering design medical regulatory data privacy and commercial teams to shape digital solutions that deliver measurable impact for users and the business.
Key responsibilities
Product Definition & Backlog Ownership
Define and deliver product value: Understand the strategic vision and desired outcomes of mySugr and translate them into actionable features and user stories
Lead the product definition in collaboration with the scrum master and development team (UI/UX team architecture engineering business analyst) including other relevant inputs that may affect the scope of the product (medical affairs data security data privacy and legal)
Ensure quality and compliance: Approve product increments based on the Definition of Done and ensure features meet both functional and non-functional requirements (performance privacy security etc.)
Agile Delivery & Execution
Own the team backlog: Maintain prioritize and refine the product backlog ensuring transparency and alignment with roadmap goals
Drive agile execution: Lead sprint planning backlog refinement and reviews in close collaboration with engineering design and business stakeholders
Operate effectively within SAFe: Actively participate in PI Planning and System Demos collaborate with the Agile Release Train (ART) and align with Product Management and other Product Owners on cross-team dependencies
Coordinate dependencies between teams and other product owners external partners and shared service interfaces both inside and outside of R&D
Stakeholder Engagement & Compliance
Collaborate cross-functionally: Align feature development with stakeholders across architecture medical affairs data privacy security and legal teams
Foster stakeholder alignment: Clearly communicate priorities status and trade-offs to leadership peers and third-party partners
Who you are
You are a purpose-driven Product Owner with strong experience in mobile application and cloud-based development. You bring a user-centered mindset systems thinking and a deep appreciation for building products in complex regulated environments.
5 years of experience in Product Management or as a Product Owner preferably in the healthcare medical device or other regulated industries
Deep knowledge of cloud-based architectures and mobile application development (iOS and Android)
Comfortable operating in large distributed teams and interfacing with diverse stakeholder groups (technical regulatory HFE Risk Management Design business).
Experience managing product roadmap strategies backlog requirements and priorities
Proven ability to work closely with engineering teams make trade-offs and ensure delivery of scalable and high-quality digital products
Successfully led product delivery through all lifecycle stages from concept and MVP to scaled rollout and operational handover
Experience working within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) including PI Planning ART coordination and multi-team delivery alignment
Expertise in agile methodologies (Scrum Kanban) and tools (Jira Confluence); confident leading refinement sessions and sprint ceremonies
Ability to clearly and effectively communicate about software features solutions ideas to teams and customers
Ability to work effectively in big team setup remote peers setting and 3rd parties
Good communication skills and excellent team collaboration
Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment
Degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field; healthcare industry experience is a strong plus
Bonus skills
Experience in digital health patient-centered design or diabetes technology is a strong advantage
Passion for solving meaningful problems and improving the lives of patients through digital solutions

In Austria we have a legal obligation to disclose the minimum salary according to our collective agreement which is gross EUR 3.843 - per month for this position. But!
