Tennis Facility Instructor Positions Seasonal

Do you like being in an active indoor setting Engage with adults and children alike Enjoy the tennis and pickleball atmosphere Montgomery County Parks Enterprise Division is currently seekingdynamic energetic fun Tennis Instructors to fill our exciting positions at either Pauline Betz Addie Tennis Center at Cabin John Regional Park or the Wheaton Indoor Tennis Center.

Tennis Instructors will be responsible for using current instructional techniques and to follow an approved curriculum. Tennis instructors must have a collaborative and professional approach with other instructors and cooperate in a teamwork environment. Tennis instructors must be willing to accept feedback from patrons and assure they are receiving the best service possible. Performance will be measured by customer surveys and Tennis Instructors are expected to create a safe fun and engaging learning environment for a very diverse clientele. Positions are part time and year-round. Schedules may vary depending on class schedule. Only Montgomery County Parks Tennis Instructors who teach the required minimum number of group lessons year-round will be permitted to also teach private lessons at the two indoor tennis facilities.

The ideal candidate must be flexible detail-oriented and enjoy working with diverse groups of people of all ages abilities and skill levels. The incumbent will be expected to have excellent verbal and written communication skills and good interpersonal skills. Will work closely with the Management team to increase participation at the indoor facilities and to ensure coverage of all group lesson programs and camps.

Work hours are flexible to include weekdays evenings weekends and holidays. Both facilities are open year-round.

• Teach group junior and adult lessons
• Attend staff meetings
• Ensure proper record keeping such as class attendance
• Provide excellent customer service and follow up on customer concerns and feedback and see problems through to a positive resolution
• Give managers feedback on student performance and assure students are in the best fit for their level
• Maintain and distribute student evaluation forms
• Forward all concerns to manager

• USPTA (Level 1 Instructor) or PTR (Level 1) certification as well as experience with 10 and Under Tennis instructional methods equipment and play formats. Wheelchair/adaptive tennis experience also desirable.
• Work hours include weekdays evenings weekends and holidays.

May be subject to medical drug and alcohol testing.

These positions are seasonal (part-time) and do not include benefits. Wages are based on experience and qualifications and range from $22.00/hr to $34.00/hr.

Allselected candidates must display excellent customer service skills attain First Aid CPR and AED certifications (training classes available) and attend in-house orientation.
