The City of Pueblo is looking for qualified candidates to be our next Civil Engineer Drainage in our Stormwater Division. As the Civil Engineer - Drainage youll be responsible for the planning design and construction management of drainage facilities within the City and providing engineering and technical support related to the operation of City stormwater this supervisory role youll directly supervise engineers within the Stormwater Division. Youll also prepare contract bid documents review drainage plans submitted for commercial sites and attend meetings with the public and other agencies on drainage issues.

Qualifications :

Education:  Employee must possess one of the following:

  • An ABET-accredited bachelors degree (or higher) in any engineering field; 

OR

  • A bachelors degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university in Construction Management Civil Engineering Technology Mechanical Engineering Technology or other Engineering Technology field.

Experience:  Employee must demonstrate they meet the following experience requirement:

  • At least two (2) years of experience in the field of civil engineering including a minimum of one (1) year of experience in stormwater engineering management and oversight of construction projects in the public right-of-way and/or development of stormwater-related construction project scopes of work to include preparation of drawings and specifications.


Licenses/Credentials:  Employee must possess or obtain the following licenses/credentials within the time frames specified:

  • A valid drivers license at the time of application and a valid Colorado drivers license within 30 days of employment
    1. License restrictions that may hinder your ability to drive on City business such as an interlock will be cause for disqualification 
    2. During the course of employment a valid license must be maintained and the employee must notify the City immediately upon changes to the status of their license; and 
  • Ability to obtain licensure as a professional engineer in the State of Colorado within five (5) years of appointment.
