The Enforcement Bureau seeks a highly skilled and experienced Senior Investigator to support the Bureaus mission of ensuring compliance with applicable laws rules and regulations. Under administrative direction and with wide latitude for independent initiative and judgment the Senior Investigator will conduct and oversee complex investigative work provide quality assurance on inspections and serve as a key resource in high-level enforcement operations.
The Senior Investigator will:
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of inspections to ensure accuracy consistency and compliance with Bureau standards.
- Perform and oversee investigative tasks including: witness and subject interviews; surveillance and undercover operations; evidence gathering and intelligence analysis; examination and analysis of records data and reports.
- Manage and participate in ad hoc investigative projects and special enforcement initiatives.
- Testify in administrative hearings trials or other proceedings as needed.
- Direct or support staff in carrying out surveillance interviews record reviews and report preparation.
- Provide guidance and training in investigative techniques and best practices.
- Collaborate with prosecutorial offices Inspector General staff and other Federal State and municipal agencies on joint investigations.
- Assist in the design and management of pilot projects aimed at detecting deterring and preventing fraud abuse or non-compliance.
- Prepare comprehensive investigative reports and recommend appropriate enforcement or administrative actions.

Candidates who are permanent in comparable civil service titles may be considered for title change under rule 6.1.9 of the Personnel Rules and Regulations of the City of New York.

ADMINISTRATIVE INVESTIGATOR (N - 1002I
Qualifications :
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory full-time experience conducting investigations to identify or gather evidence of criminal activity or fraud or to verify or evaluate qualifications of persons for employment or licensure 18 months of which must have been in an administrative managerial or executive capacity or supervising a staff performing investigations or related work; or
2. An associate degree or 60 credits from an accredited college and six years of satisfactory full-time experience as described in 1 above; or
3. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and eight years of satisfactory experience as described in 1 above; or
4. Education and/or experience equivalent to 1 2 or 3 above. However all candidates must have the 18 months of experience in an administrative managerial executive or supervisory capacity as described in 1 above.
