As a Principal Maintenance Program Specialist youll be a key driver of operational excellence regulatory compliance and strategic innovation across Qantas Groups Ground Services Equipment (GSE) portfolio. With oversight of more than 1500 unique maintenance programs this high-impact leadership role blends deep technical expertise with strategic vision and stakeholder influence to ensure our assets are safe reliable and commercially sustainable. 

This strategic and hands-on leadership role combines ownership of maintenance programs operational improvement and risk management. It involves developing and refining maintenance strategies aligned with regulatory and OEM standards improving efficiency across national workshop operations and embedding safety and environmental risk standards into all maintenance activities. 

To be successful youll have: 

• Proven experience in leading and motivating teams with strong people leadership capabilities including coaching mentoring and performance development. 

• Familiarity with maintenance information systems such as IFS TRAX Maintenix SAP or similar platforms and the ability to manage large datasets and scheduling processes. 

• A commercial mindset with the ability to assess decisions through a business lens and deliver measurable outcomes. 

• Demonstrated success in change management and continuous improvement with a track record of achieving KPIs and driving operational efficiency. 

• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence across technical and non-technical audiences. 

• A resilient mindset - comfortable navigating complexity imperfect or incomplete information and operational challenges without becoming overwhelmed.
