Department of Geosciences of Job Duties:The Department of Geosciences in the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas invites applications for a non-tenure track Instructor of Human Geography to start in January 2026. This is a standard nine-month faculty appointment.

This non-tenure track Instructor will teach four classes in the Fall and Spring Semesters. The University is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the excellence of the academic community. Initial appointment is for a period of one year with the possibility for renewal. The opportunity for reappointment will be based on performance and continued need.

Regular reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty as is the ability to create and maintain collegial harmonious working relationships with others

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

With submitted materials the candidate must demonstrate

• Masters degree in Geography or related field conferred by the start of employment

• Experience teaching introductory-level human geography or related courses as instructor of record

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ph.D. or terminal degree in geography or a related field

• Teaching experience in face-to-face and online formats

Department of Geosciences is interdisciplinary with expertise in geography geology Earth science geographic information science (GIScience) space and planetary science and related disciplines. We offer bachelors and masters degrees as well as a PhD in geosciences (). As is common the candidate may work closely with and/or leverage existing research facilities/programs such as Center for Advanced Spatial Technologies ( Environmental Dynamics ( Arkansas Center for Space and Planetary Sciences ( Arkansas Water Resources Center ( Savoy experimental watershed and analytical facilities ( and will include:
