Description

The Accounting Manager oversees all aspects of the accounting function including accounts payable accounts receivable billing cash receipts collections general ledger maintenance internal controls and financial audits. This role ensures accurate financial reporting maintains compliance with accounting standards and supports operational leaders with job cost analysis and contract management.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full accounting cycle including AP AR billing cash management and general ledger functions.
  • Review contracts and ensure proper setup and billing compliance within the accounting system.
  • Partner with project managers to review job progress prepare monthly billings and ensure timely revenue recognition.
  • Monitor accounts receivable manage collections and communicate payment status and issues to leadership.
  • Prepare and reconcile bank accounts prepaids and other balance sheet accounts monthly.
  • Analyze job cost reports and perform cost reclassifications as needed.
  • Support year-end audit activities including preparation of revenue confirmations and schedules.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field required.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience; construction or cost accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of job cost accounting materials cost accounting and general financial accounting principles.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Sage 300 CRE or similar accounting systems preferred.
  • Excellent analytical organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities with a professional and collaborative demeanor.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with accuracy and efficiency.
