Primary Duties & Responsibilities
1. Strategic Procurement & Planning
- Develop and execute procurement strategies for semiconductor-related materials tools and systems (e.g. process equipment cleanroom consumables vacuum systems gas delivery systems etc).
- Identify cost reduction opportunities through supplier consolidation long-term agreements or alternative sourcing.
- Identify evaluate and qualify new global and local suppliers based on technical capabilities quality standards cost competitiveness and reliability.
2. Supplier & Vendor Management
- Source qualify and manage suppliers for high-precision components equipment and specialized services.
- Conduct technical and commercial evaluations of suppliers ensuring compliance with semiconductor industry standards.
- Develop supplier scorecards to track delivery performance quality compliance and service levels.
- Manage vendor relationships and facilitate regular business reviews.
3. Contract Management & Negotiation
- Lead contract and price negotiations for major equipment and service contracts.
- Review and approve purchase orders ensuring alignment with technical specifications and project schedules.
- Ensure that all procurement agreements comply with corporate legal and environmental standards.
4. Technical Coordination
- Collaborate with Engineering and Facilities teams during equipment specification selection and installation.
- Review and interpret technical drawings datasheets and BOMs to ensure accuracy of purchased items.
- Provide technical insights during bid evaluations and supplier audits.
- Support tool relocation or new fab expansion projects from a procurement perspective.
- Drive Value Engineering/Value Analysis (VE/VA) initiatives to reduce total cost of ownership (TCO) without compromising quality or performance.
5. Cost Control & Reporting
- Monitor procurement budgets and ensure adherence to project financial plans.
- Prepare cost analyses market trend reports and supplier performance summaries for management review.
- Track and report procurement KPIs including savings delivery reliability and process efficiency.
6. Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure all sourcing activities follow semiconductor industry best practices safety protocols and EHS regulations.
- Mitigate supply risks by developing contingency sourcing strategies and maintaining approved vendor lists.
Support internal and external audits related to procurement and supplier management.
Education & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical Electrical Industrial or Electronics) Supply Chain Management or related field.
- Minimum 510 years of procurement experience in the semiconductor electronics manufacturing or high-tech industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of semiconductor process equipment facilities systems (HVAC CDA UPW gas) and cleanroom consumables.
- Proven experience in supplier sourcing negotiation and contract management for technical materials and capital equipment.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and cleanroom operation protocols.
- Proficient in ERP or procurement systems (e.g. SAP Oracle).
- Excellent communication analytical and stakeholder management skills.
