About the Role
The Patient Transport Service provides non-emergency low and selected medium-acuity transport for patients across our facilities. As a Patient Transport Nurse you will accompany patients during transport when clinical oversight is these situations your expertise in patient handover and clinical observation ensures patient safety supports clinical governance and enables rapid intervention should a patients condition change while in transit. Within this role there is opportunity to contribute to the nursing co-hort of the hospital as required.
About You
You are a compassionate and adaptable nurse who thrives in dynamic environments demonstrating confidence in both independent and team-based settings. You take pride in delivering safe high-quality care and providing clinical oversight during patient transport.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Current registration with AHPRA.
- A minimum of two years experience in an acute hospital environment.
- A sound understanding of relevant legislation standards and hospital policies governing nursing practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centred approach to care.
In addition you will demonstrate the clinical competence required to:
- Observe unmonitored patients clinical presentation during transport and respond promptly to any changes in condition.
- Manage patients at risk of clinical deterioration including those who are post-operative.
- Safely manage medications oxygen therapy and intravenous infusions during transit.
- Uphold hospital safety and clinical governance standards ensuring all patient transfers are conducted in accordance with hospital policy and best practice guidelines.

- Availability across a Monday to Friday roster morning and afternoon shifts only.
- Flexible rostering options are available with short shifts and school holiday leave considered.
Remuneration: A base hourly rate from $37.75 - $53.02 superannuation based on experience level and qualifications exclusive of penalties or allowances (NSW Registered Nurse/Midwife Year 1-8).
