The Group Lead plays a key leadership role within Supply Chain supporting Logistics Leads (team leads) Logistics Clerks and Operators. This position focuses on guiding daily work removing obstacles before they impact operations and building strong productive relationships across the team. Specific Responsibilities
Includes all primary duties performed by a Logistics Lead plus one must:
Lead coach mentor and train team members across the Supply Chain department to ensure they are confident in all job duties and responsibilities.
Use problem-solving tools to identify root causes implement effective countermeasures and help reduce inventory inaccuracies.
Communicate equipment or process issues promptly to the Supply Chain Supervisor and/or Logistics Lead.
Document incidents escalate concerns appropriately and recommend disciplinary actions when the Supervisor is unavailable.
Review Non-Conforming Slow-Moving and Obsolete Material per work instructions and complete assigned actions from the Material Review Board or Supply Chain leadership.
Conduct and review 5S and Layered Process Audits for compliance following up on findings and action items.
Distribute and follow up on Component Alerts to prevent stock-outs reduce downtime and support efficient production flow.
Maintain strong knowledge of plant material flow including receiving line replenishment and shipping.
Understand and clearly explain key documents such as key sheets BOMs BOLs FIFO requirements and changeover processes.
Use Microsoft Outlook and Excel for communication reporting and daily tracking.
Understand warehouse management (WM) procedures and troubleshoot stock placement issues when needed.
Communicate frequently with Logistics Leads Quality Production and Planning/Scheduling to ensure alignment.
Model and reinforce Stop Call Wait practices to support safety and quality.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED
Minimum 5 years of industrial manufacturing or logistics related experience
2 years of leadership experience
