Job Summary

Columbus Technical College is seeking an individual to serve as full-time Program Specialist in our Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) division under Student Affairs. This individual will provide specialized guidance day-to-day technical management and expertise over the program.This position is full-time/exempt.

Responsibilities:

  • Advise students during early registration open registration and drop/add periods;
  • Conduct information sessions for prospective students for WIOA program;
  • Schedule Administer and Interpret assessment exam and results for program qualification;
  • Answer WIOA application processing questions for new students;
  • Process program approval inquiry questionnaires for WIOA program;
  • Update program processing deadlines and other needed information to the college website;
  • Make recruitment visits to employers career fairs etc.;
  • Answer community inquiries from email and phone calls;
  • Write and update student information and marketing materials;
  • Assist faculty with student issues regarding registration advisement and academics;
  • Assist with the annual college Job Fair and in-house program specific activities;
  • Facilitate participant attendance and support service document processing bi-monthly
  • Provide WIOA program technical assistance to staff students faculty administrators and other customers in relation to program/operational area;
  • Perform programmatic/operational functions for the WIOA program;
  • Monitor student semester progress;
  • Maintain applicable financial/official student records and files in accordance with WIOA policy guidelines;
  • Generate reports regarding WIOA program activity;
  • Manage and maintain office supplies and equipment create and process purchase order requests for program participants tools equipment services and supplies.

  • Knowledge of related state and federal regulations
  • Knowledge of budget development and management principles

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates degree *and* Three (3) years of related work experience
  • Note: Experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience and knowledge of WIOA Policies and Procedures
  • Experience WIOA Intake and Enrollment Procedures
  • Experience with Banner Degree Works and Blackboard
