The Surgical Physician Assistant works closely with and assists the Mohs Surgeon in a wide variety of capacities sometimes under minimal supervision.
He/she carries out or assists Mohs Surgeon with diagnostic and treatment procedures.
He/she supervises other clinical assistants and also acts as a proactive member of the patient care team serving as a patient advocate teacher and liason.
This position is PRN.
Responsibilities
- Clinical provider with a strong interest in surgery.
- Comfortable with basic surgical techniques and patient care; experience will be helpful.
- Interested in learning advanced concepts in surgery.
- works quickly and efficiently.
- Self-motivated individual who is adaptable learns quickly and is confident working independently when appropriate and necessary.
- Works well with both patients and colleagues sometimes under stressful circumstances; communicates well.
- Follows through on tasks consistently to ensure completion.
- Willing to work a flexible schedule; must be available to assist with cases which may run late and willing to travel to various Surgery Centers.
- Excellent clinical and interpersonal skills are required as well as the desire to be part of a team that functions at the highest level.
- Other duties assigned as deemed necessary by management.
