Job Summary

Job Title: Network Administrator

Location: Chicago IL

Job Type: Full-time/Contract

Job Description: We are looking for a skilled and motivated Network Administrator to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the management configuration and optimization of our companys network infrastructure. You will ensure the stable operation of our network and systems performing regular monitoring troubleshooting and maintaining a high level of performance and security.

Key Responsibilities:

Administer and maintain the companys network infrastructure including routers switches firewalls and VPN systems.
Configure monitor and optimize network devices and systems to ensure smooth and efficient network operations.
Perform routine network and server maintenance including upgrades and patches.
Troubleshoot network issues identifying and resolving problems in a timely manner.
Manage and support network security systems ensuring protection against unauthorized access malware and cyber-attacks.
Provide technical support for network-related issues working with end-users to resolve connectivity or performance problems.
Monitor network performance and analyze data to prevent potential network issues.
Perform data backups disaster recovery and ensure network redundancy.
Collaborate with the IT team to implement network upgrades and expansions based on organizational needs.
Maintain up-to-date documentation on network configurations policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field (preferred).
Proven experience as a Network Administrator or in a similar network-related role.
Strong knowledge of network protocols including TCP/IP DNS DHCP and VPN.
Experience with configuring and maintaining routers switches firewalls and other networking hardware.
Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g. SolarWinds Wireshark).
Experience in managing network security including firewall rules VPNs and intrusion detection systems.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills to interact effectively with technical and non-technical teams.
Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNA CompTIA Network or equivalent are a plus.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with cloud-based networking solutions.
Familiarity with network automation and scripting tools.
Knowledge of wireless networks and VOIP systems.
