Teacher - American Sign Language

The Montgomery County School Board Virginia is now accepting applications for an American Sign Language teachingposition thatis available at the high schoool level.

Primary Responsibilities:

To develop and implement an instructional program that will effectively provide the best possible education for each student.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Hold or be eligible for a Virginia teachers license with the appropriate endorsement to teach American Sign Language at the high school level
Develop and implement effective lesson plans and curriculum materials
Possess the ability to effectively assess student learning and use results to plan and implement appropriate instruction
Integrate technology into classroom instruction to enhance learning
Utilize Google Drive for instructional purposes collaboration and managing coursework
Create and maintain an inclusive supportive learning environment that respects the diverse backgrounds and needs of all students
Communicate effectively with strong written verbal presentation and interpersonal skills
Engage and collaborate effectively with students parents and families
Collaborate with other teachers and contribute to a positive team environment
Demonstrate dependability punctuality and reliability in fulfilling responsibilities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Hold a masters degree in Education and/or the specific subject area

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

SALARY: $50072.26 - $83120.04 annually; with benefits; commensurate with experience (current salary scale may change due to 2025-2026 budget considerations)
