Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational manufacturing and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
- Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
- Resolves workplace issues/problems submitting unsettled grievances to the Operations Manager and/or Human Resources for resolution.
- Compiles stores and retrieves production data.
- Oversees the daily operations of production departments including but not limited to machining assembly and/or welding etc.
- Conducts employee training on equipment operations or work and safety procedures
- Works with other departments to drive continuous improvement efforts and reduce costs
- Adjusts the production plan in time according to changes in the demand plan
- Maintains production schedules in department to ensure timely delivery of customer products
- Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress;
- revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
- Schedules personnel based on current workload and skill availability to best utilize skills and machines
- Coordinates activities between shifts
- Enforces the company policies regarding safety quality productivity and discipline
- Resolves personnel problems by investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action. Resolve employee issues through problem resolution.
- Supports Kaizen and other continuous improvement activities.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelors degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Background in welding/fabricating and/or machining preferred.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
