Job Summary

Position will be open until filled.

We are currently seeking:

An Alarm Coordinator to join our this role you will process and issue all residential and commercial Burglar and Fire Alarm permits for the City of San Angelo.


Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Responsible for setting up and maintaining all residential and commercial alarms permits for the City of San Angelo which includes processing payments issuing permits sending out renewal reminders initiating collections initiating charges on accounts that are not in compliance with the City Ordinance recording all alarm calls and maintaining of all of the files and records.
  2. Responsible for familiarizing and staying up to date and in compliance with the DPS Security Bureau and City Ordinance. Frequently deals with alarm companies their employees and door to door sales.
  3. Issuing a variety of monthly and yearly statistical reports regarding alarms.
  4. Keeping IT Division informed of any changes that must be made on the SAPD website regarding Alarms.
  5. Assisting with answering phones greeting the public and performing any other duties in the office as needed.
  6. Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
  7. Regular and timely attendance is required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

A high school diploma or equivalent. Qualifications would be gained by the completion of one-year experience in general office and clerical work or any combination of education and experience.


Required Licenses or Certifications:

  • A valid Texas Driver License is required.
  • Applicants with an out-of-state driver license must provide an original certified driving record from the state of driving licensure.
  • Must pass a 35 wpm typing test.

Required Knowledge of:

  • Windows
  • Excel

Required Skill in:

  • Excellent customers service and organizational skills are a must.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively with the public and maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
  • Good knowledge and skills of general office practices and procedures.
  • Ability to operate various office machines.

Additional Information:

  • This is a security sensitive position.
  • Must have good credit.
  • Must not have any felony convictions.
  • All successful candidates will be subject to background investigation which includes credit history and polygraph exam.

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

  • Must be able to bend or stoop to retrieve and lift books files or materials weighting 10 to 15 lbs.
