Job Summary
CK Group are recruiting for a Research and Development Laboratory Technician to join a global materials manufacturing company based near Wigan on a full time permanent basis.

Our client is a global leader in manufacturing glass for the architectural automotive and technical sectors. They strive to be the best innovator of high-performance glass and glazing solutions. They now have an exciting opportunity for an R&D Laboratory Technician to join their Thin Film Resource Group within the R&D Function and are offering a salary ranging up to 32000 depending on experience.
Location:
The R&D Laboratory Technician position will be based at the companys site near Wigan easily commutable by road from Merseyside including Liverpool Ormskirk Skelmersdale and Manchester. Please note a full UK driving licence and car ownership is required due to the companys location.
R&D Laboratory Technician Role:
Your main duties will be:
37.5 hours per week 25 days holiday Holiday purchase scheme Flexible Working Pension Scheme Bonus Scheme On-site car parking/EV charging points On-site canteen and On-site fitness.

R&D Laboratory Technician Role:

- Operating and maintaining lab coating equipment.
- Depositing thin films on glass and preparing substrates.
- Investigating new coatings applied through Chemical Vapour Deposition (CVD).
- Conducting durability tests and preparing samples.
- Measuringphysical properties of coated glass.

Your Background:
The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:
- Educated to BTEC/HNC/apprenticeship level - these are strongly preferred over a degree-level education for this role.
- Experience working in a chemical laboratory - essential.
- Driving licence and access to car - essential.
