EduTalent Group are hiring for an experienced Headteacher to lead a specialist education setting providing high-quality education and behavioural support for children with autism and developmental delays. This is a senior leadership role offering the opportunity to shape curriculum governance and operational excellence while working closely with the Clinical Director and senior leadership team.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy
- Provide vision and strategic direction driving school performance and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to implement plans that support innovation and academic excellence.
- Promote an inclusive culture that fosters growth for staff and pupils.
Curriculum & Education Quality
- Oversee the development and delivery of a high-quality curriculum tailored to individual pupil needs.
- Monitor teaching and learning standards provide feedback and ensure pupil progress tracking aligns with EHCPs and school expectations.
Safeguarding & Compliance
- Maintain responsibility for safeguarding and child protection policies ensuring statutory compliance.
- Work with external agencies as required and ensure staff are trained and confident in safeguarding procedures.
- Ensure governance and regulatory compliance across both school and early years settings.
Staff Leadership & Development
- Inspire mentor and develop teaching and non-teaching staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations and support professional growth opportunities including mentoring ECTs.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with parents pupils staff and external partners.
- Represent the setting at events meetings and conferences.
Operational Oversight
- Ensure operational efficiency including health and safety risk assessments budget awareness and MIS management.
- Oversee behaviour management procedures and promote pupil and staff wellbeing.
Requirements:
- Proven leadership experience as a Headteacher or Deputy Headteacher.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) essential.
- Strong knowledge of early years primary education curriculum development assessment practices and SEN provision.
- Experience with safeguarding child protection and independent school compliance.
- Strategic thinker with excellent communication interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- NASENCo or NPQSENCo qualification advantageous.
- Willingness to learn principles of ABA (prior knowledge of ABA principles are desirable)
