Job Summary
The Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department in the College of Engineering at The University of Texas at Arlington invites applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in the broad areas of Space Systems Space Propulsion and In-Orbit Technologies. Candidates with appropriate experience and credentials will be considered for the rank of Associate Professor.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Applicants with demonstrated expertise in one or more areas of space propulsion; spacecraft structures; guidance navigation and control; space robotics; spacecraft systems engineering; and orbital assembly and manufacturing are invited to addition to a clear research focus successful applicants are expected to develop a significant externally funded research program that includes a strong record of peer-reviewed publications mentorship of graduate students and post-doctoral researchers engagement of undergraduate researchers contributions to PhD program development and interdisciplinary collaboration. Applicants are expected to effectively teach undergraduate and graduate courses participate in assigned department and university duties and demonstrate leadership in relevant professional and technical societies. A competitive salary and research startup funds are available for this position.
Required Qualifications
The candidate must have earned a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering or a closely related discipline by the start date.
Preferred Qualifications
Postdoctoral or industry research experience is desirable.
