Clifton is currently searching for a full time permanent Senior Civil Design Engineer to join our Regina Saskatoon or Calgary office. As the Senior Civil Design Engineer you will be a reliable knowledgeable member of our Civil Practice Team. You will focus on providing senior technical oversight on Civil projects mentoring intermediate and junior level engineers and project management.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership to a team of engineering and technical professionals.
- Lead conceptual and detailed design for a variety of civil engineering projects including roadways parking lot development commercial and industrial site development municipal services wastewater engineering services and associated drainage improvements.
- Project delivery at all levels from feasibility to closure.
- Lead and develop procurement and tender packages and specification packages for major design projects.
- Oversee preparation of engineering drawings and documentation for projects including technical letters memorandums reports drawing packages and detailed design packages.
- Assist in the evaluation selection and application of engineering techniques and procedures.
- Prepare engineering reports and technical studies.
- Adhere to established design guidelines and procedures in accordance with industry codes and standards.
- Analyze design issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Review project plans and determine design feasibilities and constraints.
- Adhere to Cliftons Quality Management System in project delivery.
- Provide quality control of all design and drafting work associated with assigned projects before final submission.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelors Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution.
- Minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant experience in engineering and design or a combination of education and experience would be considered.
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in Saskatchewan (APEGS) and/or Alberta (APEGA).
- Strong industry knowledge adept at building and cultivating client relationships.
- Proficiency with computer assisted engineering and design software including the suite of tools from AutoDesk.
- Strong organizational skills including effective management of multiple and conflicting priorities with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in the context of work/life balance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of products.
- Continued attention to safety and safe work environments with a strong workplace safety orientation.
