Charles R. Drew University is located in the Watts-Willowbrook area of south Los Angeles and was founded in 1966 in the wake of the Watts uprising. CDU was founded to address inadequate medical care in the region and to provide equitable medical education opportunities for under-represented students.

CDU offers the only historically black Doctor of Medicine program west of the Mississippi and is strongly invested in the local and regional community. The university leads multiple partnerships and programs to provide equitable healthcare resources in a variety of south Los Angeles neighborhoods.

Under the general supervision of the Program Director of the Family Nurse Practitioner Program the Program Coordinator II provides general administrative activities that support program activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Input maintain and ensure correctness of data of standard departmental documents Powercampus student service system.
  • Main point of contact with staff faculty and students from CDUs medical school.
  • Provide medical students with course and clerkship registration support.
  • Manage the universitys AAMC Student Records System (SRS).
  • Oversee and execute critical enrollment verifications for medical student internships fellowships and residency applications ensuring compliance with site institutional and accreditation standards.
  • Assist students with registration questions and assistance with forms from both medical and undergraduate
  • Respond to inquiries regarding College of Medicine course set up and curriculum
  • Transcript education and degree verification
  • Maintain records check data and prepare standard
  • Maintain records and source documents in an orderly manner for data input and audit
  • Withdrawals Leaves of Absences and is responsible for all aspects of student enrollment
  • Maintain course set up information in PowerCampus and Ad
  • Manages and maintains student files; files documents transcripts into student files upon completion of
  • Manages the enrollment and degree submittal of the National Student
  • Update student degree progress requirements in internal student
  • Maintains academic plan degree requirements in SIS; rolls requirements to current term and updates as
  • Coordinates with the Assistant Registrar to ensure Vets and dependents eligible for VA Benefits are certified and reported appropriately.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • May perform other related duties as assigned:
    • Support undergraduate and graduate clearance processes
    • Maintains and assists with the ordering office
    • Supports the functions of the Office of Admissions and Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships on an as-need basis
    • Assists in the preparation of audits in the Office of the Registrar
    • Assists with the development of the University Catalog.
    • Participates as needed in University events which occasionally are held during evening or weekend hours
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent required; and/or equivalent of combine education and experience in the related
  • Three years of relevant experience in the Office of the Registrar
  • Medical school experience is preferred but not required

  • Ability to follow verbal and written

  • Preferred knowledge of both of University and Medical School academic and curriculum policies and procedures
  • Advanced word-processing spreadsheet and data entry
