Job title

Electrical Maintenance Technician M/F/D

Position Context:

The position expedites I C & E maintenance activities at both sites safely and efficiently to agreed work plans safety management systems and best working practices in accordance with Health & Safety regulations and Business Objectives to ensure that the performance and availability of I C & E systems meets the standards required to achieve safety production and environmental targets.

Main tasks :

Expedite ICE activities planned and reactive at either site as directed to ensure facilities are maintained in compliance with company processes and EH&S design and maintenance standards

Supervise & assist maintenance team members support staff and contractors in day-to-day maintenance activities on site (including Haz Area inspection and testing isolation of power sources etc.)

Provide technical & troubleshooting support to company personnel in electrical matters including breakdowns

Assist with the development implementation & review of site-wide maintenance programmes & procedures

Maintain knowledge & competency in electrical Standards & best practice

Identify opportunities for improvement within the maintenance operation

Assist with planning and management of electrical elements of maintenance turnarounds

Assist with the control and coordination of spare parts and the optimisation of stock levels

Ensure appropriate maintenance records are kept up to date to facilitate data analysis for reliability improvements; CMMS Hazardous Area Inspection Fixed Wiring earth continuity etc. reports to be completed on a timely basis data checked for accuracy and updated as appropriate.

Participate in improvement and review initiatives as required e.g. E&I Compliance Team incident investigations & hazard reviews

Prepare technical reports as required

Comply with safe work systems and maintenance procedures

Participate conscientiously as a team member in department call-out rota sharing duties and responding to call-outs as & when applicable.

Ideal candidate would have 3 years relevant experience in a maintenance role on a COMAH upper tier chemical manufacturing plant

As a minimum the successful candidate should have a recognized apprenticeship or electrical qualification

CompEx training and qualification preferred

Extensive knowledge & understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices & working knowledge of I&C systems

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (e.g. loop diagrams & P&IDs)

Needs to be conversant with Health and Safety issues and Codes of Practice relevant to the industry including COSHH LOLER PUWER DSEAR CompEx BS7671 & IEC61511

Must be eligible to work in the UK and have full UK driving license

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills self-motivated with a good team ethic
