Job Description
Basic Function and Scope of Responsibility:
The Infrastructure Engineer is primarily responsible for engineering configuration installation maintenance and upgrade of the Companys infrastructure including physical and virtual servers storage backups and disaster recovery planning. This role requires deep technical expertise strategic thinking and the ability to lead complex projects.
Essential Job Duties:
Assist in research evaluation and recommendation of networking hardware such as routers switches firewalls remote access systems and network management systems.
Assist in designing configuring or upgrading local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN/WLAN).
Assist in identifying diagnosing and resolving connection reliability or performance issues.
Keep the workroom neat organized and secure.
Work under close to moderate supervision with limited latitude for independent judgment.
Consult with senior peers on non-complex projects to learn through experience.
Apply basic application management and administration skills with a moderate level of proficiency.
Represent the department and the organization favorably and in accordance with established Company standards and associate attributes.
Work within defined ITIL processes such as change and incident management.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
Qualifications
Essential Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Bachelors degree in computer science business or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 1-3 years of experience with Cisco switches/routers firewalls and related device support.
Active Directory DNS and DHCP familiarity
Critical thinking and problem-solving ability
Ability to multi-task
Knowledge of reference lab operations and processes a plus.
Knowledge and management of System Development Lifecycle Methodologies a plus.
Experience in maintaining technical documentation to ensure efficient planning and execution
Goal-oriented with excellent time management and organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively and work efficiently with people at all levels in an organization
Excellent verbal & written communication skills
Keenly attentive to detail
Ability to keep sensitive information confidential
High level of proficiency with PC-based software programs including MS Office suite Visio and project management tools.
Additional Information
Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement including the ability to read write and speak in English.
