Zooxs System Design and Mission Assurance (SDMA) team constructs the Safety Case and validates that our vehicles are safe for autonomous driving. SDMA enables Zoox to rapidly iterate and safely expand capabilities through trustworthy innovative and pragmatic safety engineering. As a Platform System Simulation Test Engineer at Zoox you will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team to develop and test systems that enable and support our robotaxi ensuring the safety and performance of the closed-loop drive system.
The Platform System Simulation Test Engineer will have strong technical skills in building simulation test suites automating post-processing of data maintaining the fidelity of simulation environments and defining the optimal balance between vehicle and simulation testing.
In this role you will:
- Develop and Automate Simulation Frameworks:
- Lead the design and implementation of simulation suites to validate system performance and detect regressions from software changes
- Utilize Continuous Integration (CI) pipelines to run regression test suites and provide rapid feedback to development teams.
- Define and develop automated data post-processing tools to streamline analysis and continuously improve reporting efficiency
- Analyze and Validate System Safety:
- Analyze system requirements and verify the vehicles safety concept.
- Interpret complex test data correlate simulation fidelity with real-world vehicle performance and report key findings to stakeholders.
- Strategize and Collaborate:
- Work cross-functionally with drive validation systems software motion controls and vehicle engineering teams to establish performance metrics that increase our reliance on simulation.
- Design efficient and comprehensive test programs that leverage simulation and analysis to achieve full requirements coverage.
