About the job:

  • As the Advanced Trainee in Public Health Medicine you will achieve all the competencies leading to a Fellowship of the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine (AFPHM).
  • You will have a particular focus on rural Aboriginal and One Health issues in Public Health Medicine.
  • You will work in a highly competent multi-disciplinary team to contribute to protecting the health of the population of Hunter New England.
  • You will be supported by highly experienced public health physicians who will mentor and support you within this position. They have an excellent track record in developing highly effective public health physicians.

About you:

  • As the advanced Trainee in Public Health Medicine you are collaborative open respectful and empowered.

Requirements:

  • Enrolled as an Advanced Trainee in the AFPHM Advanced Training Program.
  • MBBS or equivalent current general registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Eligibility to drive in NSW.
  • Have completed at least 3 years of medical experience since graduating and completed a MPH (or equivalent) including the facultys core discipline areas: Epidemiology Biostatistics Health Protection Health Promotion Health Policy Planning and Management.
  • Demonstrated interest in a range of elements core to public health practice particularly the rural One Health and Aboriginal priorities of Hunter New England.
  • Advanced independent clinical skills and judgement with the ability to make sound decisions and problem solve with an awareness of limitations and ability to learn independently and modify behaviour accordingly.
