Save the Children International has an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Resource Centreto join our global team.

Team and Job Purpose

  • Co-own delivery of the Digital Data & Evidence enabler
  • Ensure E&L standards tools and capability are in place and embedded across countries to generate communicate and use evidence
  • Support the Movement to produce insights and learning to inform and elevate programme quality influencing and thought leadership
  • Lead on global standards and research/evaluation agenda in line with global strategy
  • Accountable for shared leadership of E&L strategy

Role purpose

The role holder will be part of the Insights and Learning sub-team within the Innovation & Learning team. The Resource Centre Specialist will oversee the strategic management curation and continuous improvement of Save the Childrens global Resource Centre a digital knowledge platform dedicated to advancing childrens rights. The Specialist will ensure the Resource Centre remains user-friendly secure content-rich and aligned with organizational priorities.

Principal Accountabilities

Platform & Technical Oversight

  • Act as primary focal point for the Resource Centre platform hosted on AWS with a NextJS frontend and WordPress CMS.
  • Liaise with third-party developers (Swace Digital AB) for hosting security bug fixes and feature development.
  • Monitor system performance analytics and site availability; escalate issues to IT/Swace as needed.
  • Coordinate maintenance schedules (daily monitoring quarterly updates plugin/security reviews).
  • Manage API connections (Global CMS SharePoint) and staff portal integration.
  • Support GDPR compliance data deletion requests and user permissions.

Content Curation & Quality Assurance

  • Review and upload incoming resources ensuring metadata completeness (title abstract keywords etc.).
  • Draft or edit abstracts summaries and SEO tags for discoverability.
  • Apply and enforce the Image Policy replacing child photos with illustrations or stock visuals.
  • Maintain multilingual consistency across English French Spanish Swedish Dutch and Arabic pages.
  • Regularly audit the platform for broken links outdated resources and metadata gaps.

Content Strategy & Engagement

  • Develop and implement a content strategy that keeps the platform relevant inclusive and user focused.
  • Monitor sector trends and user analytics to inform content priorities.
  • Collaborate with thematic experts country offices and external partners to source and publish high-quality resources.
  • Promote new content via internal comms (OneNet SC Weekly Charlie) and coordinate with SCI global comms for external promotion.
  • Maintain editorial calendar aligned with awareness days campaigns and internal milestones.

Copyright & Governance

  • Manage copyright agreements for external materials securing permissions and recording agreements in the CMS.
  • Ensure compliance with intellectual property rights Creative Commons licenses and organizational policies.
  • Track expiry of time-limited agreements and archive/remove content accordingly.

Budgeting Reporting & Coordination

  • Manage quarterly invoicing and budgeting processes with Swace Digital AB.
  • Produce usage reports and analytics for SCI leadership.
  • Support funding proposals and cost-sharing agreements for platform sustainability.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with SCI IT global comms and thematic teams.

Experience and Skills

Essential

  1. Substantial experience in digital knowledge platforms resource centres or content management roles. Proven track record managing vendors digital platforms or large content repositories.
  2. Technical literacy: familiarity with CMS (WordPress) cloud hosting (AWS) APIs analytics tools (Google Analytics Hot Jar).
  3. Content management: strong writing editing and cataloging skills with attention to metadata multilingual content and accessibility.
  4. Strategic mindset: ability to develop and execute content strategies that engage diverse audiences.
  5. Project management: experience managing budgets vendors and reporting cycles.
  6. Reporting: Strong analytical capability with proven experience in using databases and other data sources to generate insights for action.
  7. Communication: ability to liaise across technical teams comms thematic experts and external partners.
  8. Knowledge of GDPR/IPR: understanding of data privacy copyright and content governance.
  9. Customer focused: Strong orientation towards continuous improvement in user experience or customer service preferably including human-centred design approaches and UX testing
  10. Good Microsoft SharePoint skills including the ability to create and edit document libraries lists One Net pages etc.

Desirable

  • Experience in the international development/child rights sector is highly desirable.

  • Bachelors degree in information management Communications International Development or related field
