The team

The Leadership Communications team works closely with Linklaters most senior leaders to develop and deliver strategic messaging across all channels. The team is responsible for internal announcements leadership updates external statements and event communications for the Senior Partners and Firmwide Managing Partner. By partnering closely with other communications functions and business groups the team ensures that leadership messages are aligned timely impactful and reflective of Linklaters strategy vision and firm values. The team amplifies the voice and visibility of the firms leadership driving engagement and reputation internally and externally.

Purpose

The Leadership Communications Lead partners directly with Linklaters Senior Partner and Firmwide Managing Partner to design draft and deliver strategic communications supporting the firms vision leadership priorities and reputation. This role plays a critical part in ensuring clear cohesive messaging across all internal and external channels amplifying leadership impact and advancing the firms strategic ambitions.

As a senior advisor you will guide executive messaging for major announcements speeches thought leadership and media engagement. You will shape the firms voice in the market and internally enabling the Senior Partner and Firmwide Managing Partner to communicate with authenticity clarity and influence.

Your key responsibilities

  • Direct draft and coordinate all communications from the Senior Partner and Firmwide Managing Partner including key announcements leadership updates and external statements.
  • Provide comprehensive support for major executive engagements such as town halls media interviews external conferences and high-profile client events ensuring communications are tailored and impactful.
  • Develop speeches scripts talking points and thought leadership materials that reflect firm strategy and enhance leadership presence across diverse audiences.
  • Advise senior leaders on communication approach and narrative promoting alignment with the firms values and business objectives.
  • Ensure consistency and quality of executive messaging across all channels including internal emails digital platforms presentations and external communications.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate executive messaging into wider firm campaigns and initiatives.
  • Manage the preparation delivery and follow-up for key leadership communications and engagements.
  • Monitor external trends competitor messaging and market sentiment to keep executive communications relevant and differentiated.
  • Develop feedback mechanisms to measure the impact and effectiveness of executive messaging enabling continuous improvement.

Your experience

  • Extensive experience in executive leadership or corporate communications roles ideally within a global or professional services environment.
  • Proven track record in developing strategic messaging for senior executives or C-suite personnel.
  • Expertise in drafting high-quality speeches announcements media statements and presentations.
  • Experience supporting senior leaders for major events interviews and public engagements.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex business priorities into clear engaging messages for internal and external audiences.
  • Strong stakeholder management and advisory skills working directly with senior leadership.
  • Familiarity with both internal and external digital communication platforms and channels including
  • Track record of ensuring quality and consistency in high-stakes communications.
  • Experience integrating executive messaging into broader communications and strategic initiatives.

  • Strong project management and organisational skills to coordinate multiple priorities.
  • Effective interpersonal and collaboration skills able to work cross-functionally.
  • Ability to respond quickly calmly and effectively in time-sensitive or high-pressure situations.
  • Competency in presentation and public speaking support for executive leaders and developing supporting materials for example PowerPoint.
  • Awareness of market trends competitor activity and external perceptions.
