Overview
The Senior Graphic Designer plays a pivotal role in shaping SikhRIs visual storytelling across both print and digital media. From State of the Panth and Annual Reports to educational videos and digital campaigns this position combines precision in layout design with creativity in motion and video production.
The ideal candidate is a multidisciplinary designermeticulous with typography confident in InDesign skilled in After Effects and Premiere Pro and capable of transforming complex ideas into compelling accessible visuals. This role requires both technical mastery and creative sensitivity to SikhRIs Gurmat-centered mission and educational tone. This role reports to the MarCom Director.
Key Responsibilities
Print & Publication Design
- Design long-form publications reports and educational resources in Adobe InDesign.
- Translate research-based content into engaging visual narratives.
- Collaborate with writers and editors to ensure content accuracy and clarity.
- Prepare files for print and digital distribution ensuring brand alignment and technical precision.
Motion Graphics & Video Editing
- Design and animate motion graphics for courses events and digital campaigns.
- Edit long-form educational videos and short promotional clips.
- Develop storyboards and visual treatments in collaboration with the Creative Production Manager.
- Integrate static and motion design to maintain cohesive storytelling across formats.
Creative Collaboration & Workflow
- Work closely with the Creative Production Manager to interpret briefs and deliver high-quality designs.
- Provide feedback or direction to junior designers and freelance contributors.
- Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with accuracy and consistency.
- Uphold SikhRIs visual identity and contribute to evolving its design language.
Requirements
- 58 years of professional experience in graphic and motion design including a minimum of 2 years specifically in motion graphics and video editing.
- Expert proficiency in Adobe InDesign Illustrator Photoshop After Effects Premiere Pro and familiarity with Audition.
- Strong command of typography layout systems color theory and motion design principles.
- Ability to edit and produce high-quality video content including color correction audio mixing sound design and visual pacing.
- Impeccable attention to detail and organizational discipline across file management version control and production workflows.
- Excellent English comprehension and communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate design concepts to various stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects meet tight deadlines and deliver polished production-ready assets.
- Self-motivated resourceful collaborative and able to work independently within a remote team structure.
- Understanding of social media platforms and content trends is an asset.
- Portfolio or demo reel showcasing both print and motion/video work is required for consideration.
Nice to Have
- BS/BA in Graphic Design Motion Graphics Video Production or a related field.
- Experience with Canva for rapid-turnaround social assets.
- Familiarity with SikhRIs educational content and audience segments.
Work Environment
- Stationed in Mohali with virtual collaboration across global teams.
