As a Solution Architect Expert within PNCs Enterprise Technology organization you will be based either in Pittsburgh PA or Dallas TX. The position is primarily based in a PNC location. Responsibilities require time in the office or in the field on a regular basis.
Job Description:
Provides technical guidance direction and best practices in the payments orchestration processing and post-processing components.
Focuses on payments domain (capabilities data services orchestration clearing connectors)
Uses advanced technical knowledge and industry experience to develop and drive solution architecture design strategy. Utilizes strong understanding of the broader picture of systems programs and initiatives to actualize solutions to interconnect systems.
Leads technical design sessions with the development teams including the creation of class models sequence diagrams component models and detailed design specifications to ensure that architecture standards are followed.
Provides architectural leadership on a variety of issues in software designs system architecture and solution-oriented technologies. Serves as a knowledge resource and thought leader to advise on critical issue management.
Communicates implications of architectural decisions technology costs/benefits and implementation requirements. Maintains strong executive presence to communicate and guide strategy to peers and executive-level LOB and Technology leaders.
Demonstrates expertise operating as a success engineer to manage solution architecture project outcomes including hardware and software design; ensuring composite architecture is scalable reliable available and manageable.
Standardizes and implements scalable and reliable engineering and deployment patterns for common technologies. Ensures solution designs meet PNCs needs for confidentiality integrity and availability and adhere to the our policies standards and procedures.

Work Experience:
Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree and higher-level education such as a Masters degree PhD or certifications. Industry -relevant experience is typically 15 lieu of a degree a comparable combination of education job specific certification(s) and experience (including military service) may be considered. Required
Competencies:
Deep knowledge of Payment operations regulatory requirements and industry-specific practices (e.g. Fedwire CHIPS ACH RTP FedNOW SWIFT ISO 20022 NACHA).
Deep knowledge of the payment systems orchestration integration data business flows settlement processes risk exposures operational resilience cutover strategies and compliance.
Application Design Architecture Subject Matter Depth and Breadth Required
Knowledge of application design activities tools and techniques; ability to utilize these to convert business requirements and logical models into a technical application design.
Helps others learn how to create multiple application designs on multiple technology platforms.
Leads in evaluating and selecting emerging application design tools and techniques.
Plays a leading role in the development of technical standards and platforms for application design.
Consults to others on the technical design of high-impact multi-technology complex applications.
Provides application architecture consulting and educational support to associates and business line areas.
Elaborates on the evolution of technical application design tools techniques and strategies.
Platform Architecture Subject Matter Depth and Breadth Required:
Knowledge of technologies and methods to design processing mechanisms and roadmaps to execute business application systems; ability to design these roadmaps and deploy supportive interfaces for end-users to access related systems in accordance with standards and processes.
Develops strategies for platform architecture; ensures that these strategies align with business requirements.
Establishes best practices processes and standards in platform architecture for ones own department and throughout the organization.
Creates or introduces new methodologies and approaches to develop platform architecture.
Consults on complex issues in platform architecture design for the entire organization.
Designs training programs to improve the technical ability of platform architects and evaluates the effectiveness of this program on a regular basis.
Leads discussions on future trends methodologies and processes of platform architecture throughout the enterprise.
Target Architecture Subject Matter Depth and Breadth Required
Knowledge of methods and tools to develop a blueprint for the future state of IT; ability to develop the roadmap of it while aligning the architecture and processes with business strategies and objectives.
Establishes best practices strategies and processes for the overall design of target architecture.
Creates or introduces advanced methodologies to design target data applications technology and business architecture.
Develops training programs in target architecture techniques and practices across the organization.
Creates feedback mechanisms for problem identification and resolution to improve all target architecture working processes.
Consults on resolving complex issues and problems in target architectural design for the entire organization.
Forecasts future trends in the design and development of IT architectures; shares these perspectives throughout the enterprise.
