About the Role

As a Pre-Contract Specialist you will play a key role in partnering with the business to develop deploy and manage procurement and delivery strategies for Major Projects. This position is critical in ensuring value for money compliance with procedures and alignment with professional best practices.

What Youll Do

• Lead procurement and transaction activities to deliver optimal outcomes
• Collaborate across business functions to build strong supplier relationships and negotiate contractual arrangements
• Identify opportunities for improvement and drive innovation in supply strategies
• Enhance procurement capability within the team and across Sydney Water
• Support key process improvement and transformation initiatives within the Major Projects Procurement team

About you:

• 5 years experience in construction and infrastructure projects in a large complex organisation preferably in a similar organisation or industry sector and /or in management consulting
• Understanding of construction procurement delivery model and NSW tendering and transaction requirements
• Ability to partner closely with the business while maintaining a degree of functional independence
• Ability to lead sourcing activities and management of large projects
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships with ease
• Demonstrated complex problem solving and analytical skills with ability to define outcomes and action plan to deliver on the agreed objectives
• Proven ability to engage and influence cross-functional stakeholders at various levels including senior executives
• Proven ability to lead/ facilitate discussions across cross-functional teams during various phases of the transaction
• Ability to identify develop and implement project schedules and plans
• Good understanding of financial commercial and regulatory cost drivers provides advice on the business implications of costs/ benefits to ensure the outcomes are aligned to the organisations strategic goals
• Possesses significant knowledge of infrastructure and construction industry players emerging trends and competitive strategies
• Knowledge of procurement and Procurement systems (preferably SAP Ariba)
