Job Summary

Commercial Director

Location: Hybrid with flexibility to work from home client sites or on the road as required. Attendance at NuServes Gatwick office is typically once or twice a month for leadership meetings or team events and additionally as needed to collaborate on bids or build relationships with colleagues.

The Opportunity

The Commercial Director will take ownership of NuServes growth agenda. This is a hands-on leadership role with primary responsibility for securing new business and driving profitable revenue growth. Success will be measured by the value and margin of new contracts won alongside the protection and expansion of existing revenues.

Reporting to the CEO and working in close partnership with the Operations Director as the Commercial Director youll be responsible for securing new business protecting and expanding key accounts and guiding a capable team that includes a Business Development Manager Business Development Executive and Proposal & Content Co-ordinator. Youll also have access to external bid writers and designers to support high-value or strategic submissions. Youll have strong marketing support through an external agency a best-in-class Salesforce CRM and a trusted development partner keeping our systems sharp.

The Commercial Director will also play a central role within NuServes five-person Executive Team helping to shape business strategy influence key decisions and ensure commercial insight informs every major initiative. This is a genuine opportunity to lead from the front combining strategic influence hands-on delivery and true ownership. Key Duties

Sales and New Business

Lead the full sales process from prospecting and discovery through to site surveys solution design presentation negotiation and close.

Build and maintain senior relationships with target clients and market influencers.

Take overall accountability for delivery of NuServes new business growth targets in both revenue and gross profit.

Proposals and Bids

Lead the commercial strategy for bids and retenders setting win themes key messages and positioning for each opportunity.

Direct and coach the Proposal & Content Co-ordinator developing them into a capable bid writer and content creator.

Ensure the timely delivery of high-quality visually engaging proposals that balance operational feasibility with commercial competitiveness and client impact.

Collaborate with external bid consultants and designers on high-value or strategic opportunities to ensure proposals stand out in both content and presentation.

Team and Collaboration

Provide day-to-day leadership to the BDM BDE and Proposal & Content Co-ordinator ensuring clear goals strong communication and a shared sense of purpose.

Work closely with NuServes external marketing agency to align campaigns content and outreach activity with the sales strategy.

Leverage Salesforce CRM to manage pipeline reporting and client intelligence supported by an expert development partner who ensures the system continues to evolve with the business.

Foster a culture of learning accountability and shared success across the commercial team.

Build additional capability over time as the sales function grows.

Commercial Strategy and Leadership

Own NuServes go-to-market strategy pricing approach and positioning.

Partner with the Operations Director to shape commercial terms and renewal strategies that protect and grow existing revenues.

Continuously refine how NuServe differentiates in the market ensuring bids excite clients and stand out from competitors.

Contribute fully as a member of the Executive Team bringing commercial insight client intelligence and growth focus to strategic planning.

Who Are You

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who wants ownership as well as influence. What were looking for:

A proven track record of securing and retaining significant B2B service contracts ideally within FM or related service industries.

Hands-on and entrepreneurial equally confident building senior client relationships shaping tailored solutions and leading proposals through to a successful close.

Strong commercial acumen with experience in pricing margin management and navigating both new business and contract renewals.

Ability to inspire lead and build trust with colleagues and clients including senior stakeholders.

Creative and client-centric in designing solutions challenging safe options and pushing for proposals that excite and differentiate.

Comfortable operating as both doer and strategist in a growing ambitious business.
