VOAC recognizes the unique needs of the older adult who needs a wheelchair ramp to stay at home safely and the preschooler whose family needs additional resources. VOAC supports veterans efforts to exit homelessness as well as provides a safe place for survivors of domestic violence. Wherever VOAC goes it combines relationship-building volunteers and quality services to lift and support our neighbors efforts to become self-sufficient and reach their full potential.
** Responsible for the operations and programmatic development of the Handyperson Program a fall prevention and minor home repair program for older adults and individuals with disabilities. These responsibilities include recruiting and managing highly skilled volunteers; data collection and fiscal management; assisting with grant writing reporting and management; developing and maintaining professional liaison relationships within the community and with partner agencies
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Recruits hires trains supervises and recognizes highly skilled Handyperson volunteers in accordance with Volunteers of America Colorado (VOAC) personnel policies and procedures.
Develops integrates and implements goals and objectives including initiative areas specified in the grant applications and Volunteers of Americas mission.
Oversees compliance with ADA standards and building codes in all communities in which the program operates. Ensure that all volunteers comply with these codes and assist clients with securing permits when necessary.
Identifies areas for program expansion and improvement to meet community/consumer needs.
Develops and implements client intake and work assignment process for receiving filling and monitoring work requests including estimates on needed materials cost and time estimates to complete a work order.
Prepares all project reports as required by Volunteers of America Colorado (VOAC) and/or funding sources. Develops and maintains a record keeping system and databases.
Provides liaisons for all aspects of the Handyperson Program with VOAC and maintains cooperative working relations with community organizations/agencies relevant to project goals and objectives.
Develops and implements on-going methods of monitoring in-kind donations material costs material inventory and ordering materials reimbursements and client donations for the program.
Develops and implements program outreach activities.
Assists the Associate Director in the preparation of grant applications grant reports grant compliance and program budgets.
Performs all other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this position the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands or fingers handle or feel objects tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Handyman project sites visits are frequently required for this job requiring travel to locations throughout Larimer County and totaling approximately 10-12 hours per week. Sites are residential homes; conditions in client homes vary. Adherence to agency policies regarding home visits is critical.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
Full-time Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm.
Occasionally site projects and outreach events may require weekend early morning or evening hours.

PAY RANGE : $56486-$58000 annual exempt

Minimum Qualifications of Position
Bachelors Degree in related field or equivalent relevant experience.
Minimum two years of experience in program operations including experience with implementation monitoring and reporting.
Construction or handyman experience is required.
Valid Colorado drivers license and proof of insurance. Provides and maintains a reliable mode of transportation for all scheduled shifts and can drive safely in all types of inclement weather.
