This position will support our ongoing efforts to protect proprietary software algorithms and processes through copyright and trade secret filings. Location: Remote or Hybrid (Washington D.C. area preferred) Hours: 10-20 hours per month Responsibilities: - Assist in preparing and submitting copyright registrations for software code and related documentation through .
- Draft and maintain trade secret protection documentation including confidentiality labels internal policies and NDAs.
- Help update contract and subcontract templates with IP assignment and confidentiality language.
- Track and maintain an internal IP governance log ensuring registration certificates and filings are recorded.
- Support coordination with outside counsel (as needed) for trademark filings or other IP matters.
- Conduct light legal research on copyright trade secret and small-business IP best practices.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure all handling of proprietary data follows company standards.
Qualifications - Enrolled in or graduate of an accredited law school (3L preferred).
- Coursework or demonstrated interest in Intellectual Property Law or Technology Law.
- Strong attention to detail documentation skills and ability to follow compliance frameworks.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word SharePoint and Adobe Acrobat; experience with a plus.
