Im working with a brilliant specialist SEMH school in London and theyre seeking a patient grounded Behaviour Mentor / Behaviour Support Assistant to join their dedicated team.
The students are bright charismatic and full of promise but many have experienced instability trauma or have additional needs such as ADHD or Autism. What makes the biggest impact for them is calmness humour and authentic support.
This is a setting where staff dont give up. They listen they adapt and they celebrate every step forward especially the small ones that others might miss.
Your role will include:
- Supporting students 1:1 and in small groups to help re-engage them in learning
- Building warm trusting relationships that create a sense of safety
- Encouraging emotional regulation and modelling positive behaviour
- Working closely with class teachers to maintain a structured settled environment
- Helping young people reflect grow in confidence and move towards better outcomes
- Being a steady dependable adult they can rely on each day
