Project Lead/Coach Hazard Mitigation Planner
Location: Phoenix AZ
Position Type: Staff Augmentation
Hours: 40 per week Day Shift
Duration: 6 Months (Projected Start: 12/15/2025)

Position Overview:

The Hazard Mitigation Planner will work within the Plans Branch under the guidance of the Plans Branch Manager. This role is responsible for leading projects related to the State Hazard Mitigation Plan and local and Tribal Hazard Mitigation Planning. The position requires strong leadership and organizational skills to manage complex planning tasks and ensure timely completion of annual updates.

Key responsibilities include:

Leading and coordinating hazard mitigation planning projects.
Facilitating meetings with stakeholders across federal state local county Tribal NGO and private sectors.
Ensuring compliance with federal policies directives and frameworks impacting emergency management planning.
Collaborating with a team of professional planners to deliver high-quality planning documentation.
Staying informed on federal hazard mitigation requirements and integrating them into state and local plans.

Requirements:

Local Candidates Only Must reside in Arizona and be available for in-person interviews within 1 week of posting close date.
Must be able to start within 2 weeks of offer.
Eligible to convert to FTE (No visa sponsorship available).
Background check and drug screening required (via HireRight).
Security clearance required.

Required Skills:

3 years experience as a Project Leader/Manager.
Experience with Hazard Mitigation Planning.

Preferred Skills:

Strong professional communication skills.
Knowledge of federal policies directives goals and frameworks related to emergency management planning.

Travel: Not required.
Billing Type: Hourly.
Shift: Day (8:00 AM 5:00 PM).
Weekend Work: None.
