Job Summary

Duration: 6 month contract to hire

Location: Oklahoma City OK

Office: This is a work from home position. You may be asked to come into the office for meetings. Must be willing to drive into the office 1-2 days per week if requested.

Pay: $25-30 on W2

This role is responsible for system design specification writing and supporting the full development lifecycle for regional products and programs. The ideal candidate will bring strong skills in system configuration client engagement and business analysis. They will create detailed requirements mockups and documentation and serve as a subject matter expert in data and reporting. SPED knowledge (or willingness to acquire it within 60 days) and familiarity with Axure specifications are required. This position requires the candidate to live in the Oklahoma City metro area or be within a one hour drive.

Key Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage and support system configuration development requests and product improvements.

  • Own and maintain assigned Jira tickets ensuring progress documentation accuracy and timely resolution.

  • Support system configuration updates and business requirement revisions based on project needs.

  • Uphold high levels of client satisfaction by ensuring quality and on-time deliverables.

  • Coordinate with other business lines as additional modules or products are implemented across regions.

  • Ensure alignment between client needs system development and product success.

  • Contribute to a culture of accountability learning and continuous improvement.

  • Follow standardized SDLC design practices documentation templates and configuration procedures.

  • Escalate risks related to product issues system design challenges or major product decisions.

  • Support implementation frameworks and continuous process improvements within the team.

  • (If applicable) Oversee direct reports to ensure quality timeliness and professional development.

Special Education Policy
  • Maintain an understanding of Special Education compliance and regulations to guide product enhancements.

  • Maintain knowledge of policy nuances for assigned clients and products.

  • Translate compliance requirements into functional system and documentation updates.

Development & Product Support
  • Follow standards for clear and accurate Jira documentation for both business (MSRP) and development-facing (RSCMDEV) tickets.

  • Monitor progress on assigned tickets and follow SDLC best practices.

  • Identify and escalate development risks promptly.

  • Coordinate with Client Management and Data & Analytics to follow development priorities.

  • Translate client feedback and requests into functional system enhancements.

  • Collaborate with developers and QA to ensure accuracy in testing and implementation.

  • Define acceptance criteria and conduct or support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and regression testing.

  • Conduct Tier 3 defect investigation and resolution for assigned projects.

  • Submit and close Jira tickets within established timelines (e.g. within 72 hours of production verification).

  • Communicate design and time estimates for new changes as applicable.

  • Support updates to end-user guides and release documentation.

  • Engage in feature release activities ensuring readiness testing and deployment verification.

  • Participate in feature forums to represent assigned projects and understand release timelines.

Specification Design (Business Requirements)
  • Manage create and update business requirements and wireframes for assigned projects.

  • Follow established standards for documentation ensuring alignment with product design principles and accessibility standards.

  • Develop high-fidelity prototypes for new features and complex change requests.

  • Conduct design walkthroughs and peer reviews to ensure quality and consistency.

  • Collaborate across teams to ensure client-approved specifications where applicable.

  • Perform regular audits of business requirements for accuracy and alignment.

  • Contribute to user-centered and data-driven design thinking.

System Configuration
  • Assist with system setup validation and configuration changes as assigned.

  • Follow testing standards and maintain documentation of configuration changes.

  • Support historical tracking of client-specific configurations and customizations.

  • Test and validate data imports exports and integrations.

  • Participate in troubleshooting and issue resolution for configuration-related issues.

Client Management & Engagement
  • Participate in client kickoff and status meetings as appropriate.

  • Complete assigned client-related action items and document meeting decisions.

  • Support gap analysis sessions and help translate client needs into functional requirements.

  • Partner with client management and training teams to ensure high client satisfaction.

  • Provide information and documentation to support training materials and end-user communications.

  • Follow established standards for client engagement and documentation consistency.

  • Support state and district managers in presenting system enhancements and updates.

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile processes.

  • Experience with Jira or similar task management platforms.

  • Working knowledge of data systems and reporting tools.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Detail-oriented organized and proactive problem solver.

  • Familiarity with Special Education systems and policy compliance preferred.
