Job Description - Assistant Controller Position Summary The Assistant Controller supports the Controller in managing all accounting operations for AIMS Companies. This role ensures the accuracy of financial data assists with monthly closing processes and helps maintain compliance across multiple states and business units. The Assistant Controller is hands-on with day-to-day accounting activities while also contributing to process improvements reporting accuracy and overall operational discipline.
Key Responsibilities Accounting Operations -
Assist with management of AP AR payroll accounting cash management and general ledger maintenance.

Support the month-end close process including reconciliations accruals journal entries and variance analysis.

Maintain accuracy of job costing revenue recognition and work-in-progress schedules.

Ensure compliance with multi-state tax filings.
Financial Reporting -
Prepare financial reports internal dashboards and supporting documentation.

Assist with consolidated financial statements and intercompany reconciliations.

Support year-end audit preparation and collaborate with external auditors.
Process Improvement & Controls -
Recommend opportunities to streamline accounting operations strengthen internal controls and improve reporting efficiency.

Ensure proper documentation of policies procedures and financial processes.

Assist with the implementation of new tools software or process enhancements.
Team Collaboration Qualifications -
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field required.

3 7 years of accounting experience; public accounting or job-cost industry experience preferred.

Strong understanding of GAAP reconciliations and month-end close processes.
-
Experience with multi-state environments fixed assets and job costing is a plus.

Strong Excel and ERP/accounting system proficiency.

Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
