Job Title: Engineering Technician
Client: Heavy Machine Manufacturing Company
Duration: 1 Year (Possible Extension)
Location: Moline IL 61265
Shift: Start between 7:00 AM 9:00 AM
Education: Engineering/Technology or equivalent experience
Role Summary:
Entry-level technician position supporting product verification and validation by performing instrumented tests running lab operations collecting data and assisting engineers with design validation. Involves hands-on testing data acquisition paint/material testing documentation and coordination with design lab and field teams.
Key Responsibilities
Design schedule and execute lab/field tests to validate new product designs
Install instrumentation and develop data-acquisition programs
Compile test reports document procedures and communicate results to engineering teams
Provide direction to test operators and coordinate with experimental shop/field teams
Perform materials engineering tests using established procedures (paint lab process control performance testing)
Conduct routine data analysis assist with root-cause analysis and corrective actions
Create lab test schedules SOPs and daily protocols
Maintain and operate mechanical/chemical lab equipment; order supplies; manage workflow and priorities
Support paint lab testing specimen preparation equipment setup and test execution
Maintain test data in SharePoint and communicate results using Teams email etc.
Perform data entry run tests per documented procedures and adhere to time-sensitive schedules
Assist test customers with developing test plans and matrices in Excel
Required Skills
Knowledge of lab testing equipment instrumentation and test procedures
Strong MS Office skills (Excel Word PowerPoint)
Ability to manipulate data text images and tables
Strong problem-solving ability; able to learn new tools/topics quickly
Ability to organize projects and adapt to shifting priorities
Strong communication skills for reports documentation and test guidance
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree or higher in a STEM or Engineering Technology field OR currently pursuing such a degree
Experience in lab testing paint/material testing or product validation environments
