Job Description
The Department of Health Sciences at Weber State University invites applicants for a tenure-track faculty position beginning Spring 2026. Rank will be determined by candidate qualifications. The Health Sciences Department provides life-science general education and allied health foundational courses (medical terminology anatomy and physiology case studies pathophysiology and pharmacology) to students interested in pursuing health profession degrees and careers. Teaching responsibilities include face-to-face online independent study concurrent enrollment and laboratory instruction. Due to the vast student population the department serves (roughly 2500 students per semester) class sizes can range between 30-120 students in each section. Applicant must be able to command and instruct large class sizes confidently. Tenure-track professors are expected to maintain a full-time 12-hour credit load in addition to ongoing participation with departmental advancements course development college and university committees tenure requirements and other activities as assigned by the department chair. The successful applicant must have a doctorate degree in health sciences or a related field at the time of hire or be within one year of completing a doctorate degree. Active current clinical licenses or certifications in ones discipline are beneficial.
Required Qualifications
Doctorate Degree in Health Sciences or a related discipline at time of hire or completed within one year of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
Specified degree in Health Sciences anatomy or physiology experience with objective-based instructional design online teaching undergraduate education student advisement professional service knowledge of/experience with Canvas experience in course and content development and scholarly research and/or publications.
