We are seeking a colleague to contribute to the colleges mission to educate veterinary professionals and advance knowledge to address the contemporary needs of society. This team member will: Provide content expertise in one or more Clinical Specialties contributing to scholarly advancement of the clinical science and incorporating a specific discipline in the veterinary curriculum. The CVM utilizes a Distributive model for clinical education. Please indicate in the cover letter any expertise you have in the delivery of distributed clinical education and in any of the following clinical disciplines that are recognized by the AVMAs American Board of Veterinary Specialties ( ABVS ): Anesthesia and Analgesia Animal Welfare Avian Practice Behavior Canine and Feline Practice Cardiology Clinical Pharmacology Dental Dermatology Emergency and Critical Care Equine Practice Exotic Companion Mammal Practice Food and Fiber Animal Practice Internal Medicine Small Animal and Large Animal Laboratory Animal Medicine Microbiology Virology Immunology Bacteriology/Mycology Parasitology Neurology Nutrition Oncology Ophthalmology Pathology Anatomic Clinical Poultry Preventive Medicine Epidemiology Radiology Radiation oncology Diagnostic imaging Reptile and Amphibian Practice Shelter Medicine Practice Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Equine and Canine Surgery Small Animal and Large Animal Theriogenology Toxicology Zoological Medicine The CVM implements an innovative Problem-Based Learning ( PBL ) curriculum during the pre-clinical years. The CVM is seeking individuals with specific expertise in various disciplines. Please specify in the cover letter the level of expertise you have in any of the following disciplines whether your experience is clinical or in the foundational sciences: Anatomy Animal Behavior Animal Reproduction (Theriogenology) Epidemiology Genetics Immunology Microbiology (Bacteriology Mycology Virology) Nutrition Parasitology Pathology (Anatomic Clinical) Pharmacology Physiology Toxicology The CVM organizes much of the pre-clinical curriculum based on body systems. Please indicate in the cover letter any expertise you have in the clinical sciences related to any of the following systems: Cardiopulmonary Endocrinology Immune and Inflammatory Integumentary Gastrointestinal Musculoskeletal Neurology Reproductive Special senses Urinary Assume various teaching roles when required to meet curricular demands and as assigned by the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. Provide support in the training of students in all levels of the DVM curriculum. Serve on college and university standing committees.
Required Qualifications
EDUCATION : An advanced degree (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (ie DVM VMD ) PhD or equivalent degree) in the discipline of expertise is required. LICENSURE (if applicable): Actively licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Veterinarian in the state of California preferred. Current Veterinary specialty board certification preferred. EXPERIENCE : The college is seeking an optimal match between individual qualifications and assessed ability to contribute to the Colleges mission. All qualified candidates will be considered.
