Position Summary
The Department of Emergency Medicine within The Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in the University at Buffalo is in need of a PhD to join the faculty. The candidate will be required to identify and pursue sources of ongoing funding for Emergency Medicine. Responsibilities and duties include: Contribute to the departments academic research output by publishing findings in peer-reviewed journals presenting at conferences and engaging in knowledge translation activities. Support faculty and trainees in disseminating impactful research that advances emergency medicine practice. Collaborate with faculty residents and interdisciplinary teams within and outside the Department of Emergency Medicine. Engage with the local EMS community to explore potential research partnerships and advance prehospital care studies. Identify and pursue sources of ongoing funding for emergency medicine research including federal grants private foundations and industry partnerships. Develop competitive grant proposals and manage awarded research funds effectively. Design implement and oversee research studies related to emergency medicine including clinical trials observational studies and data-driven research initiatives. Work closely with faculty and residents to develop and execute high-impact research projects that align with departmental goals. We have a diverse group that includes many academically accomplished faculty that draw their experience from 8 Western New York hospitals providing an excellent base of patients for potential studies and many potential research partners within our local EMS community. The ability to work with multi-faceted Emergency Medicine faculty and work as a mentor to our 48 residents is required.
