About the team:
ReleaseOps is the ServiceNow application deployment pipeline used to package validate and deliver updates and applications with speed safety and consistency. The team builds maintains and troubleshoots the backend Java-based systems that power this pipeline with select JavaScript components supporting specific platform functions. As part of the Platform and App Engine organization we are seeking an Engineering Manager with strong technical depth advanced troubleshooting skills and solid leadership to guide this team. The manager will drive customer-focused adoption of ReleaseOps reduce setup effort and lower support case tasks while delivering features shaped by real customer feedback. The work centers on high-impact backend systems and demands secure practices compliance and strong protection of customer data during deployment operations.

- Participate in design and code reviewsensuring best practices in performance maintainability and testability.

- Foster a culture ofcontinuouslearning andimprovementbysharing bestpractices in engineering and quality
- Promote a culture of engineering craftsmanship knowledge-sharing and thoughtful quality practices across the team.
To be successful in this role you have:
- Ability to manage projects with material technical risk at a team level
- Experience withopen-sourcetools and agiledevelopmentenvironments
- Fluency in one or more relevantprogramming languages (Java JavaScript etc.)
- An understanding of broadconcepts and experienceusing those concepts tounderstand and develop solutions forproblems
- Ability to execute a projectbased on our prioritiescontext risks and desired outcomes
Qualifications :
- Experience in leveraging or critical thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes decision-making or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools automating workflows analyzing AI-driven insights or exploring AIs potential impact on the function or industry.
- ExperienceIn using AI Productivity tools such as Windsurf Cursor etc is a plus or nice to have.
- 6 years of experience withtechnologies relevant to ServiceNow andadvanced coding skills
- Strong knowledge of data structures algorithms object-oriented design design patterns and performanceoptimization
- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks (e.g. JUnit Selenium TestNG) and integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Understanding software quality principles including reliability observability andproduction ofreadiness.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex systems andoptimizeperformance across the stack.
- Comfort with development tools such as IDEs debuggers profilers source control and Unix-based systems
FD21
For positions in this location we offer a base pay of $147300 - $257800 plus equity (when applicable) variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications skill level competencies and work location. We also offer health plans including flexible spending accounts a 401(k) Plan with company match ESPP matching donations a flexible time away plan and family leave programs. Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located and is subject to change based on work location.
